The CEP Market at the end of 2011

cep-market-dec2011The previous CEP Market review earlier this year had a few suggestions for new entries: so we ‘ve updated the chart with what data we could find. Hope this is useful.

Note: please comment on this post any suggested changes, births, deaths and marriages in the event processing tooling market, and I’ll incorporate the changes in the next version.

  1. Hi Paul,

You might also want to include ETALIS in your survey. ETALIS combines features of EP with Stream Reasoning capabilities (i.e., an Inference Rule-based tool). We started ETALIS as a research project in 2009 (and I am happy to see “Research tool” as a category in your chart).

ETALIS is an open source, and more info can be found at: http://code.google.com/p/etalis/.

  2. Hi Paul,

You might want to include us in your survey. ActivePivot combines features of CEP and in-memory analytics. We started marketing the product in 2007. You can find more info here: http://www.quartetfs.com/en/products/activepivot

  3. Paul – this is useful. Thanks for keeping it up to date. One very minor correction on the Sybase line: at the end of 2011, our current product is called Sybase Event Stream Processor – or Sybase ESP. This is the new name for the Aleri line and represents the addition of the key Coral8 functionality to the Aleri product.
